Makeup addiction solved - how I turn makeup addiction to meditation

If you think you may have makeup addiction, you are not alone. I was there. I know many people have been there. This happens when you first started learning how to apply makeups, or when you first started your Youtube channel. Or, like me before, the addiction is not coming from the products, it is from applying makeup. I can't go out or start the day without putting makeup on first. otherwise, I deny the fact that the person in front of the mirror is me.
There are new makeup products coming out everyday. There are new ways of applying them all the time. I love to go through pages to pages online just to look at those beautiful images. They are distressing. Shopping is a way to temporarily distress you. But as soon as you get home, those items that make you seem happy can turn into more stress for you. You feel bad, you feel guilty.
Here is my story and solution. I haven't been on social media recently. Yes, I am stressed. I am confused. I always try to fix things but not this time. My anxiety level goes so high that I can't sleep. I am exhausted. I know I need something like meditation to clear my mind and let it go. But lets be honest, i tried meditation a year ago. The more I try, the harder I can concentrate. I cant just sit there with my eyes closed for 10 minutes. What if I fall asleep? I have so many errands to run, I have to pick up the kid. I walked by my makeup room,picked up a lipstick, talked to myself "with you, I still can't conquer the world. whoever said makeup empowers woman must not experience pain" I looked at myself in the mirror. I look tired, swollen eyes with dark circles. my lips are dry. I have been spending most of time worrying about other people, but i can't change anything. what about me? how can I forget to worry about myself? When was the last time that I sit down and drink some water? You know that lots of times, those anxiety can partially come from you not feeling good about yourself. At that moment, i found the perfect meditation for myself, which is applying makeup. Not like sitting and breathing, applying makeup slowly actually helps me concentrate nobody but myself and that is exactly what I need. everything changes, including your emotions. Only when you truly see yourself, you can see everything more clear. So I started with applying toners. I enjoy doing it slowly, it allows me to feel the changes of my skin. It helps me get to know myself better. Like everybody says, only when you focus on yourself, things start to change.
