The other day, my husband told me he wants to change his style. He started by searching some outfit ideas he likes, and then tried them on. Some look good on him, some just don't look right. Then he asked me "so who decides what style am I ?" That is an interesting question.
To me, it is definitely himself who decides. Style is not about wearing trendy clothes. It is an expression of yourself. In other words, it is what you feel confident on. So how to dress for the best look? First, you have to know yourself, which can take some time. Fortunately, here are some tips on how to get to know yourself in a faster way. 1. Try to figure out your body shape, your skin tone, and occasions you normally go to. I can't emphasis more about how important the fit of the clothes is to anyone. A good fit clothes can accentuate your good features and make you so much more confident. So before going shopping, try to take measurements of your bust, chests and hips. It will save you lots of time. Another thing i do that helps me get to know myself is that i read a lot of fashion magazines since high school. I used to cut out my favorite outfits from magazines and tried to find similarities among those outfits. On weekends, me and my friend would go to the mall and tried on different clothes just for fun. It helps a lot to get to know what kinds of clothes can accentuate my good features. 2. Going shopping with your friends. It is always good to have a second opinion especially about color choices. Going shopping with my friends help me explore more possibilities that otherwise I wouldn't have noticed myself. For a long time, I thought black color looks the best on me. Then my best friend is like, I think you should try some bright yellow tops. At first, I thought she was joking. I have always thought bright colors only look good on pale skin, but little did I know, this color makes my skin glow! Speaking of colors, it plays an important role in expressing our personalities. lots of people have difficult choosing colors. Here is an easy way. luckily, even though our skin colors are different, it is only undertone that matters. to know if you are cold skin or warm skin, simply roll up your sleeve and check your vein under the daylight. if it has green tune in it, you have warm skin tone. If your vein is more blueish, you have cool skin tone. Just printout a color wheel image from google.
